Biomedical Engineer/ Maintenance/ Logistics-BMET

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Allied Technologies and Consulting (ATC) is recruiting for Biomedical Engineers/Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) with maintenance and life cycle logistics experience to support the Project Management (PM) Soldier Medical Devices (SMD) program office. This hybrid position, based in Frederick, MD, requires at least two days per week in the ATC office with three days as remote working from home.

The experienced, professional, and dynamic Biomedical Engineer/Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMET) will assist with a variety of products and programs and perform the following duties:

  • Work with Project/Product Managers, Logistics Managers, other Engineers, and End-Users to provide Life Cycle support for multiple medical and non-medical products, programs, and systems.
  • Coordinate with a large network of matrixed organizations within the DoD, US Army, and other Federal agencies to ensure effective, efficient, and timely completion of the medical product development and fielding mission.
  • Apply life cycle logistics management concepts and methodology to assigned projects and demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of Integrated Product Support (IPS), DoD requirements determination, program planning, budget and execution, wholesale supply system, cataloging, and contract administration/procurement.
  • Manage the lifecycle sustainment of assigned Army assemblages and associated equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of such related and ancillary disciplines and specialties as testing, standardization, reliability and maintainability, safety, and configuration management.
  • Performa Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) for medical and non-medical devices.
  • Reviews medical materiel documents such as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) operator/service manuals and device “Start-up Lists” as well as Operational and Sustainment (O&S) Costs workbooks.
  • Assist with development of authenticated technical manuals (TM).
  • Provide medical device data for completing device Start-up Lists and/or Handbooks.
  • Perform Basis of Issue Plan Feeder Data (BOIPFD) review.
  • Provide written technical opinions to guide the decision-making process of IPTs and WGs to consider IPS elements including Product Support Management, Design Interface, Sustaining Engineering, Maintenance Planning & Management, Manpower and Personnel, Supply Support, Support Equipment, Technical Data, Training and Training Support, Computer Resource Support, Facilities and Infrastructure, and Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHST).
  • Apply an understanding of the Army and DoD field medical force structure and coordinate with multiple organizations and points of contact as required to ensure thorough and accurate communication at all times.
  • Develop, coordinate, maintain, and update supportability documents, such as Lifecycle Sustainment Plans.
  • Familiarization with Army logistics and equipment/supply systems and databases is a plus.
  • Share responsibility of representing the client in various meetings concerning medical devices procurement and support strategy.

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or in a related technical/scientific field or combination of related experience and education to include military Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) experience
  • At least 5 years of related experience and 10 years of working experience; management/leadership experience desired
  • Knowledge of military/Army medical devices/systems
  • Excellent communications, writing, organizational and project management skills
  • Sharepoint and MS Project experience desired
  • Experience, knowledge and the ability to execute using Microsoft Office Suite, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as Microsoft Outlook
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in Federal contracting, government or military environment is preferred
  • Travel up to 25% of the time may be required
  • Public Trust T1-NACI Clearance Required
  • US Citizen
  • Must be able to pass background and drug testing.
